Organic News : MiMaRoPa 6th Organic Agriculture Congress

The Department of Agriculture MiMaRoPa held the 6th Regional Organic Agriculture  at Filipiana Hotel, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro hosted by the City Government of Calapan last September 25-27, 2018 as support for the promotion of organic agriculture

The congress actively participated by about 300 organic farmer -practitioners all around the region and support government agencies like  Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for the exhibits of organic products being produced by the region.

The Congress of Organic Farmers is a good way to:

•  strengthen the adoption and practices on Organic Agriculture; to reaffirm the benefits of OA and as source of income for the farmers;
•  ensure the viability and accessibility of certified and/or organic inputs; organic food for the farmers, producers, manufacturers and stakeholders interested in adopting organic agriculture; 
• gather issues and concerns and come up with possible interventions and recommendations for the development oforganic agriculture in the region and to pass stronger declaration so that Local Government Officials may hear the voice of organic practitioners.
